Verena Paravel is a French anthropologist, artist, and filmmaker. She currently works in the Sensory Ethnography Lab at Harvard University. Her work is shown in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, and has been exhibited in many other museums and exhibitions. She has collaborated often with Lucien Castaing-Taylor, and is known for their joint works somniloquies, Caniba, and Leviathan, all of which received critical acclaim. Leviathan received the FIPRESCI (international Film critics) Award, and several other accolades. She is also known for 7 Queens (2008) and Interface Series (2008-2010).
