LaToya Ruby Frazier is an American artist who works in film, photography, performance, and writing. She has work displayed in many solo exhibitions in the US and Europe. She published her first book, The Notion of Family, in 2015, which received the International Center for Photography Infinity Award. Her work is held in many public collections, including The Museum of Modern Art, The Bronx Museum of the Arts, Carnegie Museum of Art, The Library of Congress, and many others. She is the recipient of fellowships from TED Fellows and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. She is currently an Associate Professor of Photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
