Garrett Bradley is an American filmmaker and director. Her debut feature Below Dreams premiered in 2014 at the Tribeca Film Festival, and was given a special jury award at the New Orleans Film Festival. Her documentary short America was screened at Sundance in 2019, and was nominated for an Independent Documentary Award by the IDA. America was also given a week-long run at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, along speakers, Bradley’s previous work, and influenced/inspired films. Bradley was also the first Black woman to win the Sundance directing award in 2020 for her nonfiction feature film Time was also nominated for Best Documentary Feature at the 93rd Academy Awards.
