Lucien Castaing-Taylor

Lucien Castaing-Taylor is a British anthropologist and filmmaker. Since 2022, he has taught anthropology at Harvard University, where he is Director of the Sensory Ethnography Lab. He is best known for his ethnographic documentary work, including Sweetrass (2009), Leviathan (2012), and In And Out of Africa (1992). He is the founding editor of the American Anthropological Association’s journal Visual Anthropology Review (1991–94).
